Well......as you might have guessed from the title, Facebook post, and possibly fireworks- SHANNON IS HOME!! We are beyond excited! This is a long post, so go grab a snack and settle in. I’ll wait.................................don’t forget a beverage.............................oh! Is that kettle corn? I love that stuff..............ready? Okay. So.
Last night I personally went to bed at 2am. Partly because I was making things a pretty as possible; partly because I was writing last night’s blog post. This is such a bad habit. (She writes at 12:04am)
Shannon was up, she had sent me a text. So we exchanged a few remarks. She told me that her nurse came in to do some nursing stuff, and Shannon woke up thinking it was 6am and was so excited! But it was midnight. :( She Went back to sleep eventually but was up early getting dressed and ready to bust out of that joint!
Lancer and I arrived at 8:30am, a Wawa sizzili to bribe Shannon with. We walked in on the therapist giving Shannon her ASIA (American Spinal Injury Association) impairment scale test. She arrived at Magee with a score of C5 incomplete. (Remember the post from a couple days ago? Reread it if you are getting confused.) Well, today her score is ASIA T3 complete!!! Basically what that means is that while at Magee, Shannon went from not feeling or being able to use anything from her 5th neck vertebrae down, to not feeling or being able to feel or use anything from her 3rd upper back vertebrae !! Pretty amazing in 9 weeks! This is her being a pin cushion, not peaking.

We did her calendar-
There was a lot of last minute instruction, and saying goodbye to all the people who loved her at Magee. This first one is Barb, the mom away from mom. I slept at night because she loves my girl and made sure she had everything she needed. Angel. Spunky NJ sassiness, that was everything Shannon needed and so much more.
