Today was dog day again- and where there are dogs, there is a very pleased Shannon. I didn't get a chance to talk to Shannon much, just a brief conversation with her. I did hear from her case manager about her patient care visit. Shannon is making a lot of progress in her therapies. She's on track to come home in three weeks, so long as she keeps working hard and meets the goals they have for her so she will be able to be independent at home.
She sent me some videos of her with Nigel, and to make it even better, she was up on the roof with him!
Also- this was our first thing this morning text exchange:
Not much else to report. It's a hard time right now, as I've shared this week. I want to be able to swoop in and make everything better for Shannon. But the hard reality is that THIS is the new reality for her and for us. It's not easy, but it can be easier if we all work at it. Shannon has a whole army behind her, but she can't see them. I wish she could, and I pray that she will start believing more in herself and her abilities.
We really appreciate all the support that you have been giving to Shannon and our family. Please pray for Shannon to find peace with her current condition and to have the desire to work hard in her therapies so she can come home as scheduled, for her ability to clear her lungs on her own to increase so she can have her trach removed, and for her to find small things to be happy about.
