These two are twins. Ask anyone. Ryen, on the left, looks just like Shannon- even though Ryen was born 6 years earlier than Shannon was. They don't love it, but they are used to hearing it. One Sunday at church, someone came up to Shannon and asked something along the lines of "Are things going well for you and the twins at home?" Shannon responded with something like "Ya, and my SISTER who HAD twins, is doing well too". :) It will be easier to tell them apart now, since Shannon will be popping wheelies in the the church hallway, and Ryen will be chasing three rowdy boys around. They will surely suffer from mistaken identity a lot less. It's the little things...

Today I spent the day with this girl again. I scored super brownie-undying love points when I walked in with a bag of Monster's in the flavors Shannon asked for. She drinks them daily to keep her energy and blood pressure up. We were joking around about how she can claim them as prescription Monster's. :D

I assisted Shannon with a car transfer today. We did well! She's done about 5 of them now, so she's got it down. She is really good at directing her care, so I'm very confident that she will be able to help us remember what to do.

We had a nice chat with Shannon's Case Manager today about discharge day! It's getting so close. There are so many things going on this next week to get ready, I knew that already. But now there are new details. It's going to be a crazy week!

In OT, Shannon did some shoulder and arm stretches, and we talked about her shower chair situation. I'm pretty frustrated by the whole thing. We thought it was all set to be delivered before she got home. Apparently, not. We won't get it for several weeks after she's home. I'm getting pretty good at Plan B, and C....D..... We have a plan. It's not great. But it's a plan. She can't go for 3 weeks with just sponge baths. I mean, I know she could, but she's not going to. Plan D.

By the end of the day, she's pretty beat. Actually, by the middle of the day, she's pretty beat. She had Family Training three days in a row, and it's been a lot to do.

There is still such a long road ahead, and we are trying to stay focused and positive and not too overwhelmed. Shannon needs prayers for rest from her long, hard week, physical and mental strength to work through these last few days at the hospital, and for comfort in her transition home. Thank you for your prayers, and for those of you who are physically here helping and your families who are holding down the fort in your absence.

Never was there a truer statement:

We've had a house full of kids between my two youngest, Rachael's two and a brood of kids that come over while their fantastic dad works on the basement. It's been weeks now, and they aren't as "loving" as they could be, at times. Here's your Disney Quote:

Lilo: I'm sorry I bit you... and pulled your hair... and punched you in the face...
